In July 1974, Sam Ross opened the first Fantastic Sams® beauty salon in Memphis, Tennessee, with the goal of creating an affordable salon experience that was accessible to everyone. Today, we are one of the world's largest full-service hair care salons, with over 1,000 locations throughout North America.

Why Our Franchise?
Since Fantastic Sams first started franchising in 1976, the United States has experienced five recessions, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. Many of our franchisees are 20- and 30-year veterans whose Fantastic Sams thrived through all of them. During tough economic times, clients who normally frequent high-end salons might look for something more affordable. So while some salons' business might drop off in a down economy, many of our franchisees experience an influx of new customers.

Since joining Dessange International in 2012, we have entered a period of unprecedented growth, and we expect to double or triple our number of locations in the next five to 10 years.
